Martinez, GA – Columbia County is proud to celebrate the incredible victory of local angler Tanner Hadden, who recently won the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Regional Tournament on Watts Bar Lake in Tennessee. Originally scheduled to take place on Clarks Hill Lake in Columbia County, the tournament was moved to Watts Bar Lake due to the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene on the area. Despite the change in location, Hadden demonstrated his resilience and skill, securing the top spot among some of the best anglers in the region. The event, presented by Recteq, drew competitors from across the Southeast.
Hadden's ability to adapt to the new location and perform at such a high level speaks volumes about his dedication and expertise in the sport. His victory is a shining moment for both him and Columbia County.
"We are so proud of Tanner for this impressive win, especially given the circumstances that our community has faced with Hurricane Helene," said Shelly Blackburn, Executive Director of the Columbia County Convention and Visitors Bureau. "His success on the national stage is a testament to his talent and also reminds us of the strength and resilience of Columbia County as we rebuild together."
Hurricane Helene brought widespread devastation to Columbia County, prompting the relocation of the tournament. However, the community's spirit remains strong as recovery efforts continue, and this victory serves as a positive reminder of what Columbia County can achieve.
